Electronics 1 Lab Project
A transformer is a device that transfers electrical energy from one circuit to another through inductively coupled conductors—the transformer's coils. A varying current in the first or primary winding creates a varying magnetic flux in the transformer's core and thus a varying magnetic field through the secondary winding. This varying magnetic field induces a varying electromotive force (EMF) or "voltage" in the secondary winding. This effect is called mutual induction.
If a load is connected to the secondary, an electric current will flow in the secondary winding and electrical energy will be transferred from the primary circuit through the transformer to the load. In an ideal transformer, the induced voltage in the secondary winding (Vs) is in proportion to the primary voltage (Vp), and is given by the ratio of the number of turns in the secondary (Ns) to the number of turns in the primary (Np).
By appropriate selection of the ratio of turns, a transformer thus allows an alternating current (AC) voltage to be "stepped up" by making Ns greater than Np, or "stepped down" by making Ns less than Np.
In the vast majority of transformers, the windings are coils wound around a ferromagnetic core, air-core transformers being a notable exception.
Transformers range in size from a thumbnail-sized coupling transformer hidden inside a stage microphone to huge units weighing hundreds of tons used to interconnect portions of power grids. All operate with the same basic principles, although the range of designs is wide. While new technologies have eliminated the need for transformers in some electronic circuits, transformers are still found in nearly all electronic devices designed for household ("mains") voltage.

Circuits 2
The prerequisite of this course is Circuits 1. This course concentrates on the concepts and operation of resistors, inductors and capacitors. It starts with the RL, RC and RLC combination circuits. It also tackles responses of these circuits to varying frequency and their resonance.
OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
To understand the concepts and principles of RLC circuits, their importance to modern technology and be familiar with the different networks of filter.
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
After taking the course, the students should be able to know how to design a circuit that would allow a certain frequency to pass and demonstrate the response of an RLC circuit.

Mapping Party in Davao
This is a whole-day activity and mappers are grouped into teams and each team will be given a Global Positioning System (GPS) to map their respective areas in the city. Each team would either be in vehicles, in bikes or would walk around the city.
Several groups and sectors have chipped in to sponsor the mapping event, particularly on the use of the GPS equipment. We are inviting Dabawenyos to join the mapping party, assuring that there are no registration fees to be collected.

The First Transistor
They quickly made a few of these transistors and connected them with some other components to make an audio amplifier. This audio amplifier was shown to chief executives at Bell Telephone Company, who were very impressed that it didn't need time to "warm up" (like the heaters in vacuum tube circuits). They immediately realized the power of this new technology.
This invention was the spark that ignited a huge research effort in solid state electronics. Bardeen and Brattain received the Nobel Prize in Physics, 1956, together with William Shockley, "for their researches on semiconductors and their discovery of the transistor effect." Shockley had developed a so-called junction transistor, which was built on thin slices of different types of semiconductor material pressed together. The junction transistor was easier to understand theoretically, and could be manufactured more reliably.

Choose The Best Video Game
The Xbox 360 is the product of Microsoft, Playstation 3 (PSP 3) for Sony and Wii for Nintendo. The graphics quality and realism for Xbox 360 and PSP 3 are equally excellent but Xbox has larger library of games with removable hard drive. The PSP 3 can play Blu-ray disk. It includes Wi-Fi with Internet capabilities having a built-in browser. Nintendo chose not to compete with the two top companies, instead, they focus on the Wii Remote which a unique motion-sensitive controller that gets players off the couch, waving the controller around in the air.

Can You Cheat On Someone You Truly Love?
A friend of mine is a victim of dishonesty. While he was away, his girlfriend cheated on him. The girl always denied that she is faithful to him and loved him so much that she is willing to sacrifice her life to him because the other guy is just her friend. A few months later, the girl's greatest secret was unlocked and my friend was deeply hurt and this are his words, "Your love is a beautiful lie."
Is it really love that we felt for our partners if we cheat on them? If we can't be honest, if we can't stand for the things we say, let us not say the magic word because our partners will be hurt.
